Activating Mods per World

Activating Mods per World - Back view of unrecognizable hikers with trekking poles traveling in green hilly valley

In KSP, I have 2 worlds. One I play around doing real missions all in stock, the other, I use mods and mess around all the time.

I want to get Deadly Re-entry, but it will also affect my stock world. Is there a way I can enable mods for a specific save/world? Or do I have do disable them manually in the folders everytime I want to play?

Do Minecraft mods apply to all worlds?

It's not possible to have mod-specific worlds when using the same launcher (i.e. the same file path), however, the way modpack managers get around the issue of running multiple mods is by having separate instances of Minecraft for the different Modpacks.

Can you add mods to existing worlds?

No, mods will not wipe worlds, however using them incorrectly and loading the wrong version can sometimes cause corruption. It is best to back up a world before you load mods on it or use a different version.
