How long is a gym considered under attack?

If you get the "The Gym is under attack! Try again later" error in Pok\xe9mon Go you typically have to wait 10 minutes before you can add your Pok\xe9mon to the Gym. The thing is, though, you don't actually have to wait. You can fool Pok\xe9mon Go into thinking you've waiting simply by setting your clock forward 10 minutes.

How does a Pokémon get knocked out of a gym?

When you defeat a rival Pok\xe9mon, it loses Motivation and CP. When its Motivation and CP get reduced to zero, and you defeat it, it gets kicked out of the Gym. If you kick all the Pok\xe9mon out of a Gym, you can take over the Gym for your team.

How many people can defend a gym?

Gym overview Trainers from opposing teams battle for control of the Gyms. Each Gym has up to six Pok\xe9mon assigned to defend it. Trainers from an opposing team can bring six of their own Pok\xe9mon to battle against the defenders, in hopes of claiming the Gym for their own team.

What happens when you defend a gym?

By placing a Pok\xe9mon from your inventory at a gym to defend it, you'll earn the Defender Bonus - a reward of 1 Pok\xe9Coin per 10 minutes or so that it stays there, which is now automatically claimed when your Pok\xe9mon returns to you (either after you take it out or it's returned automatically by reaching zero Motivation).
