Blighttown or Great Wolf Sif? [closed]

Ok, I'm recently started to play Dark Souls my first time. I am playing as a Pyromancer with Hollow-Shield and Rapier+7. I am about SL 25 or so... So I fought me trough the Depth and killed the Gaping Dragon, and got the Key to Blighttown. I don't like Blighttown really much: Dark, Green and Toxic! So I headed to Darkroot-Garden and Basin. I killed the Hydra and the Moonlight Butterfly (in my opinion the easiest Boss so far) and I came to Sif. Sif really annoys me; he's fast, deals a ton of Damage and he's tanky too. After several trys I thought: "Maybe it's better to go to Blighttown before and come back later".

Now, should I go to Blighttown or is this place harder than Sif and I have to farm and Level-up some more, before? Hope for a fast reply! Thanks in advance!

Is Great Wolf Sif optional?

The Great Grey Wolf Sif is non-optional boss (against what many say), Dark Souls. The player meets Sif in Darkroot Garden and fights with the Greatsword of Artorias in his mouth.

How do you open the door to the Great Wolf Sif?

To even reach him you must purchase the Crest of Artorias from Andre of Astora. It is 20,000 souls. You can also reach him by using the ladder behind the hydra boss. Use it on the large door within Darkroot, the proceed through the zone till you find another door.

Can you block Sif?

Sif has a charged slash with a long windup and slashes upwards, but this can be very easily blocked by your shield. Do be warned, as this charged slash can be followed up with a sword slam, which is a lot more difficult to dodge if you've just eaten an attack from the charged slash.

When should I fight Great Wolf Sif?

It's doable, certainly, but I'd leave him for later for your first playthough. You want at least a level +10 or an elemental weapon. It will be a long fight otherwise and you'll probably run out of estus. If you want the challenge, go for it, you can only die, that's what this games about lol.
