Can 2 of the same Pokemon with the same CP have different stats?

I was recently talking with my friend about leveling up Pokemon in Pokemon Go. We weren't exactly sure how Stats work in this game, or other Pokemon games for that matter, but we are curious if the main thing we should look at is CP, or if there are other stats that we should look at, that say could make a CP 150 more powerful than a CP 160 Pokemon?
How should we go about determining which Pokemon is stronger when we have duplicates?
Thanks!

Do the same Pokemon have the same stats?
Base stats and IVs Each species of Pokemon have different base stats which are made up of the aforementioned attack, defense, and stamina. Every single species of Pokemon has exactly the same base stats. If we take Pikachu for example, it has a base of stats of 112 attack, 96 defense, and 111 stamina. Can the same Pokemon have different CP?
Same Pokemon can have different max CP, its random. Eggs hatch better "quality" Pokemon. Means when they reach your player level, their CP will be higher than the same but from not out of an egg Pokemon. Same level, 2 players, see the same pokemon, it will have same CP.Does CP affect stats?
So yes, CP will affect an attack's damage in both directions (the attacker's Attk and the defender's Def stats, respectively), but isn't a linear factor. For example, a 1200 CP Snorlax with a 10 damage attack will do less damage than a 1200 CP Dragonite who also has a 10 damage attack. Is it better to evolve high CP or high stats?
In general, you want higher CP Pok\xe9mon to evolve over lower CP Pok\xe9mon, but just because a Pok\xe9mon has a high CP doesn't mean it's actually very good. Since you can't see the underlying stats, you won't know if the numbers are getting goosed because it has one high stat and a bunch of low ones, for instance. How does CP, IV's, and LEVELS work in POKEMON GO!
