Can a train cross this junction?

Can a train cross this junction? - Freight train crossing railway bridge near industrial buildings against blue sky with clouds on sunny summer day

I am expanding my train network to have a go with trains and I've noticed that on occasion the game makes a junction without any track connections.

Non-connecting train junction

Is this a visual glitch and trains will still use it, or will this break the pathing for trains? I believe it's caused by the junction joining at too steep an angle, but I'm not sure.

Without assuming it's defenitely the case that no train can ever use this track because of the missing tracks. Unfortunately this happens when building tracks and without looking carefully at the track you will never notice it, there is no "alerting" by the game about this.

Can a train go off the tracks?

In railroading, a derailment occurs when a rail vehicle such as a train comes off its rails. Although many derailments are minor, all result in temporary disruption of the proper operation of the railway system and they are a potentially serious hazard.

Why do trains slow down randomly?

As temperatures rise and the tracks heat up, train companies want to reduce the amount of stress the rails are under. The load the train puts on the track (vertically) is dependent on the speed of the train, the diameter of the train's wheels, and the weight that the train is carrying.

Can a train move without tracks?

The only thing better than trains are boats. Anything you can move any other way, you can move with a boat. Find a location on your railroad where it crosses a navigable river (or goes to the ocean), move your locomotive there via barge, build a large single use crane to pick it up and move it to the tracks.
