Interacting with the outpost NPC tagged by the Specialist does not trigger the proper dialog to obtain the advanced mining laser.

This happens when you find the outpost before the Specialist tags it for you.

The only workaround I've found is to resettle Home Base in a different system, losing all the construction work.

Some resources are salvaged, and progress is kept. Hired specialists are kept on roster.

How do you get the advanced mining laser?

The Advanced Mining Laser can be obtained in several ways:
  • obtained from the base computer archives quest.
  • it is possible to acquire this upgrade as a reward from the final stages of the Quest Awakenings.
  • blueprint can be purchased from Iteration Eos on the Space Anomaly for 75 Nanite Clusters.


    • How do you use the NMS advanced mining laser?

    On the space station there are three vendors in a row. Speak with the Weapon guy and he will have the blueprint for the upgraded mining laser. Buy it from him and craft it on your tool and you will be able to mine the tougher materials.
