How does Planet capacity work Stellaris?

You can see this value in game by hovering over the planet size on one of your colonies. Capacity is determined by unbuilt districts * a multiplier (usually 4) plus total housing. This means in normal cases a city distract will make the capacity go up, and a resource district will make it go down.

How do you increase your population in Planet Stellaris?

Planet capacity can be increased by the player. Planet capacity = housing + unblocked districts. The idea is that each normal, built resource district gives +2 housing, so +2 capacity, and each unbuilt, unblocked district gives <2 capacity.
