Don't Starve Will Crash Seconds After Launching

Don't Starve Will Crash Seconds After Launching - Scenic View of Fire at Night

So every time I launch don't starve alone it crashes a couple of seconds after it fully boots up.

I was able to play on it the very first time I launched it and played for 53 mins before getting off. Now whenever I launch it, the aforementioned problem happens.

What I've tried:

  • Reinstalling it but that didn't change anything.
  • Running it as an administrator,
  • Turning off fullscreen optimization. When I launch it, it wont respond and show a black screen for a couple of seconds, then it will show the main menu for a few seconds, even letting me click on buttons, then after a seemingly constant amount of time, it crashes.
  • Verifying/fixing it through the launcher which didn't fix it.
  • Checked to see if its blocked on my firewall but it isn't even listed on my firewall.

I checked the log and the last message it shows is

CURL ERROR: couldn't connect to host at s3.amazonaws.com:443

This is the GOG version of the game. I have no mods installed. I do have Reign of Giants.

Why does my dont starve together keep crashing?

Outdated graphics, audio, and hardware drivers are three of the first things to check when any software is having problems. Make sure that all of your drivers are updated to the latest version. Make sure your system meets Don't Starve Together's system requirements.

Why is my game crashing on Steam?

Steam is a platform that requires \u201cread and write\u201d permissions on disks and its folders. Sometimes it also needs to change the system files so it can run in the most optimized way possible. If Steam doesn't have administrator access, it can get stuck and keep crashing indefinitely.
