Dragon Age Inquisition- In Your Heart Shall Burn - Close-up of Tea Light Candle Against Black Background

(In your heart shall burn) I have died while turning the trebuchet consistently. I would like to go to other places to level up but I cannot figure out how to leave Haven. Please help and be specific. Thank you! Also, is there a way to swap characters since there isn't a camp site?

That quest is a major plot point. Once you start it you cannot leave or change companions. Your best bet is to load a save prior to starting it.

Can you rescue Minaeve and Adan?

Adan and Minaeve have to both be rescued in the time you'd usually have to rescue just one person. It's by far the toughest save. To get to them, leave the tavern and head away from Varric's campfire towards the part of the map where Solas would stand.

Can you save everyone in Haven?

It is possible, but you seriously need to be quick on your feet. For the woman in the tavern and the two up by the eastern side, you just need to completely disregard the enemies and rush to save them before they die, because their timers are really short.
