Harvesting plants (specifically Daybloom)

Harvesting plants (specifically Daybloom) - Woman in Beige Long Sleeve Shirt and Blue Denim Shorts Sitting beside Tomato Plants

I have a garden set up which is about 20-30 tiles across with Daybloom seeds planted in some of the tiles, plus another row 3 tiles above it (forming a tunnel) with Daybloom planted along that too. When I walk along and swing my sword, it harvests all the grown plants.

The only thing is that I haven't been getting much actually growing in it. I've left the Daybloom for about 3 in-game days and not had anything to harvest. What I'm wondering is when I harvest the grown Daybloom plants, because of the large arcing swing of my sword, is it also uprooting all the seeds I've planted or will they continue to grow and just take a long time?

How do you harvest Daybloom?

Dayblooms usually grow during the Day. If the yellow sunflower-like head is visible, the Daybloom is blooming and ready to be harvested. If cut during the day, 1-3 Daybloom Seeds and 1 Daybloom will drop. Both Daybloom and their respective seeds have a chance to be obtained from the Herb Bag.

What do I do with Daybloom seeds?

Daybloom Seeds can be placed on pure and Hallowed grass (including Mowed grass and Mowed Hallowed grass), empty Clay Pots, or any types of Planter Boxes, and will grow into harvestable Dayblooms.

What makes Blinkroot bloom?

Blinkroot can be planted manually using Blinkroot Seeds, which can also be planted in Clay Pots and Planter Boxes. If the dirt block that the blinkroot is planted on turns into a grass block the blinkroot will break, dropping as an item. Blinkroot emits pulsating light ("blinks") while in bloom.

How do you harvest seeds in Terraria?

If you are farming flowers in a pot, you can harvest them with a Pickaxe. Plants will only drop seeds if they are 'blooming' (ie. fully grown). A Staff of Regrowth could be used to increase the amount of these plants collected.
