How can I increase the size of Terraria's pixels or UI?

Is there a way to increase the scale in Terraria? I want to play the game at full 1080p HD but the item bar is way too small.

There might be mods for it, but in normal Terraria, there is no way to increase the size of the item bar, pixels or UI without hacking.

Moderator. You should be able to adjust the UI scale from the ingame settings - there's a slider. You can also adjust the resolution from the settings on the main menu, it's definitley still there.

What is the default UI scale in Terraria?

While on the main menu go to settings > Interface tab > Advanced: > Safe Region and then move the edges in. You should see your hotbar and HP once its moved into the center more. This will allow you to move the stuff off screen so its on screen.
