How can I make PC games output Dolby Digital or DTS encoded audio? - Turned-on Red and Green Nintendo Switch

I hooked up optical out to a receiver that supports

  • Dolby Digitial
  • DTS

However, I cannot seem to get any games to play in those modes. Is there a way to do this? I have a huge library of Steam games I could try it on, if there's a game that is known to support it. My PC does play *.vob files correctly in surround sound, so I know my setup is working.
