How can I mod Skyrim on a different drive?

How can I mod Skyrim on a different drive? - Hand of crop anonymous tattooed person spraying white paint from can on colorful wall while standing on street of city

I modded my Skyrim on my C: drive awhile back and it ended up breaking. I didn't have space on my C: drive to continue modding anyways, so I re-downloaded Skyrim to my D: drive, but I don't know how to mod it from there.

Is there a way to move my current mods from my C: to my D: and they would work? I typically use Nexus Mod Manager for my mods, but I'm not sure if that would be an option anymore. Also, will I be able to still use FNIS and other programs like it?

As @SaintWacko said you just need to update where NMM thinks your installation of Skyrim is at and then it should continue to work like normal. If the auto-scan does not pick up the game then you should be able to enter it in manually.

Do Skyrim mods need to be on the same drive?

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim The actual installed mods are loaded during the game so if you want the advantage of the ssd then you kinda want them on the ssd. but yes you can install the mods elsewhere if you want. the location of the modmanager program itself is irrelevant.

How do I change the install location for Skyrim?

Start Mod Organizer. Go in the Settings, Paths tab. Change the location of the folder that needs to be moved. Restore your mod and load orders if necessary.

Vortex MM Transfer Fo4 \u0026 SSE to different Hard drives and keep your mods
