How do Gold rewards in Smite work?

I'm pretty new to smite and I don't quite get how the gold reward system works there. Sometimes I feel like I got gold although I didn't lasthit a creep. Also personally I don't find the interface clear when it comes to displaying how much gold you just earned.
So basically My questions are:
- Which actions will get you gold?
- How much gold do they give you?
I'm especially interested in the conquest (Classic 5v5 MOBA) mode.

What can you do with gold in smite?
Gold in SMITE is the currency used during matches to purchase and upgrade Items....This amount varies depending on the game mode:How does gold and XP work smite?
Starting items are 800 gold. Your typical starter item in another moba leaves you at most enough gold for a pot. This is because Smite puts a cost on actives - two actives are usually 600 gold for rank one. Comes out at 1400 gold (plus two pots/wards, 1500).What is starting gold in smite?
That being said, if you land the Last Hit, meaning your attack kills the creep, your character will get slightly more gold and experience than normal. Tower kills are just as important in Smite as they are in any other MOBA. Killing a tower will reward your entire team with a nice gold boost. How To Get FREE SMITE SKINS \u0026 Gems Guide!
