How do I add a tourist to a vessel in KSP

I'm trying to do the tourist flight contracts in KSP, but can't figure out where I can find the tourist kerbals to add them to my vessel?

How do I hire Kerbals?

The left panel lists Kerbal Applicants who can be hired. They can be hired by clicking on the green check-mark (\u2713) appears hovering the arrow on them. Kerbalkind provides an inexhaustible supply of applicants, though exiting and reentering the Astronaut Complex may be necessary.

How do you visit the ferry in KSP?

While holding on, use W and S to climb up or down, or A and D to transition to nearby perpendicular ladders. If the Kerbal is clinging to a command module's hatch, pressing B will board the vehicle. Pressing Space while on a ladder will release the kerbonaut's grip, allowing him to fall or float away.

How do I control Kerbals in KSP?

While in flight go into the the map and click the ship you want to control and select "switch to". Otherwise you can use the bracket keys if both ships are very close.
