How do I convert or upgrade roads?
I'm trying to optimize my road system a bit, mostly converting regular small roads into one-way roads. But the only way I can see to do that is to remove the old road entirely and build a new one. I can't seem to just build over the old one.
I can understand that limitation in cases where the new road type is larger, but it should be possible to upgrade to roads with the same size without tearing down the old road manually.
Is there an easier way to convert or upgrade roads, or do I have to manually remove the existing road every time?

Yup, you can upgrade roads. Just open up the roads menu, and click the "Upgrade Roads" button. It's the one that looks like an exclamation point, and I've circled it in the below image. This will allow you to build over existing roads so they can handle a higher volume of traffic.

There should be a tool in the road building menu thing that is the upgrade tool.
Select the upgrade tool and then select the road type you want to upgrade to.
Then, simply click on the road section that you wish to upgrade, and voila, it should upgrade.
Just as a side note, if you have any buildings built alongside a narrow road and upgrade to a road that is wider, those buildings will be destroyed.
