How do I level up in Pillars of Eternity? - Gray Pillars

In my log I saw a message saying I had earned enough experience points to level up! But I can't work out how to do it... I looked in the Character tab, where I expected to find it, but no such luck.

How do I level up?

There's a small golden + on the bottom left of the screen during normal adventuring.

How do you level up in Pillars of Eternity 2?

On the bottom left, you'll see the characters that are currently in your party. If they earned enough experience points, on the top right part of their portrait you'll see a white glowing plus sign, click that, and you'll be brought to the level up screen.

Can you grind in Pillars of Eternity?

No, in this game there are no respawns, and you only get limited XP from kills, since once you've completed the ingame bestiary entry for a type of enemy, you don't gain any XP from killing further ones. The story companions are fine and sufficient to complete the game on all difficulty levels.

Do you get XP for killing Pillars of Eternity?

Thought I'd bring this into true gaming 'cause it extends to many RPGs where you gain XP to level up.
