how to kill ancient dragons
I finally got dragonrend and defeated Alduin, but I'm still too weak for fighting ancient dragons. Any certain weapon for killing them.
(I've got lvl 20 one handed weapons and lvl 46 for archery, so the Dragonbane is out of the question)

Although pretty much useless for anything else, the wabberjack combined with dragon-rend (to keep the thing on the ground) is pretty effective. Dragons are the only thing that the wabberjack will actually hurt. I carry mine all the time and yes - it takes down legendary dragons

Try to sneak up to an Ancient Dragon if it is at a Word Wall and call Odahviing. When he arrives, attack the ancient with Firebolt, this will surprise it. Use Dragonrend to make it land so Odahviing can attack properly.
If you have finished the main quest, use the Dragonbane to attack. If you don't have it, just use a decent sword (or your favourite weapon) to attack. And you will need LOTS of health potions and stamina potions, especially if the Ancient Dragon has frost breath.

I'm at 53 and notched 31 Drag kills, only 3 ancients. Hard to admit, but I get scared...in video game...oh well. I'm facing one at the College/Mages, and no one helps, so, I run or fight. Had it on ground, but the damn thing reached out and grabbed me by mouth, tossing. It was at very low and I wanted to use bound sword to kill it to fill grand soul gem...but, live/learn...don't fool with these guys...fight smart, duck fire/ice blasts, use bow/arrow, a magic fire/ice one will do...poison helps, get on ground and kill.
