Following the instructions from the /r/rct subreddit, I was able to install RCT 2 inside Ubuntu using PlayOnLinux. The only problem is, the game glitches when running in full screen, such as things becoming misaligned, etc.

Using PlayOnLinux's settings, how can I run the game in a window with Wine?

Inside PlayOnLinux, go to the "Configure" screen for the RCT2 installation, then go to the "Wine" tab then click "Configure Wine." Once the configuration window loads, click on the "Graphics" tab and click "Emulate a Virtual Desktop."

You can also download the hack that allows RCT2 to be run natively in a window, but this is a far easier solution for Linux.

How do you make RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 windowed?

While the original RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 does not support windowed mode, you can install the open-source recreation OpenRCT2, which adds support for windowed mode, multiple resolutions, and scaling options. Click the Save icon in the top left. Select "Options". Set "Screen mode" to Windowed.

Does RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 work on Windows 10?

RCT2 itself works on Windows 10 as far as non-GOG versions go. Try reinstalling the game, possibly to a different folder, and run it as administrator. Running it in 16-bit colour mode may also help. It may at times do wacky stuff when it is supposed to show the Infogrames Interactive logo, so it may take a few tries.
