I have killed Paarthurnax until his health was gone
I have done this over and over but he keeps coming back to life. So how do I get past this and talk to him/kill him?
Best Answer
Paarthurnax is marked as plot-essential until a certain point in the game. If you have not reached that point, you won't be able to kill him... he'll just fall to his knees (or do the dragon equivalent thereof) and then regenerate.
You can disable him, or remove his essential flag, via the console on the PC. This will let you kill him, but it will probably also break subsequent quest progression.
A better option is to wait until the appropriate point in the story (basically after you capture and interrogate Odahviing), and kill him then.

Can I get out of killing Paarthurnax?
You can't. You have to go confront Paarthurnax to continue the main story. There is no way to cancel this quest. However, Paarthurnax speaks to you and offers you alternatives to killing him, which you may take him up on.What are the consequences of killing Paarthurnax?
Killing Paarthurnax will enrage Arngeir; if you return to High Hrothgar, he will angrily lecture you on your decision and even go so far as to threaten violence if you do not leave. After this, the other Greybeards will also fail to acknowledge you. On the other hand, the Blades will talk to you again. Can Paarthurnax be saved?
Bugs. PC 360 PS3 Paarthurnax is invincible immediately after receiving the quest because he is perched on the altar. However, this can be exploited to level up one's skills. Reloading a previous save will resolve this, as long as the Dragonborn does not engage in conversation before killing him.Should I kill Paarthurnax or let him live?
Do not kill him. Delphine (who is the real dummy, Esbern is cooler) told you that Paarturnax had to die because he was Alduin's ally during the Dragon War. She asked you if the Greybeards had done anything to stop Alduin...Paarthurnax is dead. Reactions. Skyrim Special Edition
