I killed Amata's father and now she won't talk to me

When you are escaping the vault in the beginning, I need to recover the password to open the secret tunnel. On my way to the Overseer's office, I came across a room where my friend, Amata, was being interrogated by her father, The Overseer, and a guard. After I killed the guard, I talked to The Overseer, but I always ended up killing him in order to get the password, and then Amata gets mad at me.

Is there any other way to get the codes or to escape?

What happens if you kill Amatas father?

And there was one thing I found in Vault 101 that I had to share; Amata's behaviour if you kill her dad, the Overseer, during the Escape quest. So if you do kill the Overseer, Amata comes and stands over and body, and then refuses to talk to you.

Can you not kill Amatas father?

Uh yeah. You just avoid him, don't give your weapons to him, and don't shoot him. If you only kill the other security guard you can also threaten the Overseer with Amata's death if he doesn't give you the key and password for his office. And don't give amata the gun, she might shoot him if you take to long to barge in.

Does Amata ever leave the vault?

Attacking Amata enough to make her hostile, but not kill her, she will chase the Lone Wanderer nearly out of the vault. Rendering Amata unconscious and dragging her body out of Vault 101, the vault door will still close, but Amata will walk to the door and disappear after a few seconds.

Do you find your dad in Fallout 3?
