If I run out of one type of seeds for a given crop in Dwarf Fortress, can I alter the plot to fill it out?

I noticed that the farming plot I made above ground will tend to fill up only with a certain number of cultivated cells. If I then go into the controls for the plot, go to the current season and then switch it to something else, will the remaining cells (or at least some of them) fill up and come to fruition?

I don't really like giving such a short answer, but simply put:
Yes

How do you store seeds in Dwarf Fortress?
They can be stored in bags (100 seeds per bag), which can in turn be stored in barrels or pots (10 bags per barrel/pot). Different seeds generally can't be mixed within a bag, so storing seeds of 10 different types requires 10 (or more) different bags (though a bug does cause dwarves to combine seeds occasionally). How do you farm in DF?
How do you build a well in Dwarf Fortress?
A well needs to be placed over an open space with adjacent floor tiles; there does not need to be water underneath a well for it to be built, only for it to be active. It requires a dwarf with the architecture labor designated to design, and then a mason/carpenter/metalsmith to finish the construction. How do you create a bedroom in Dwarf Fortress?
To create a bedroom, you must first craft a bed in a carpenter's workshop, then build it. Dwarves will not sleep in beds which have been produced in a workshop until they are placed via the build menu. Dwarves will sleep in beds that are built, but will not claim them until they are properly designated as a bedroom.Your Complete Guide to Dwarf Fortress 2015: Food Production (Hunting/Fishing/Farming/P.
