The board in front of Pierre's often offers 2-day timed quests. I haven't noticed if failing these quests penalizes me somehow (for instance, lowering my reputation with the quest-giver).
Does failing a quest have any consequences?

What happens if you fail a quest Stardew?
There is no penalty for accepting a quest and then not completing it. Clint will ask the player to collect copper, iron, or gold ores, usually 20-40, or coal for him to inspect, or Robin will ask the player to gather wood or stone. Items must be collected after accepting the quest. What happens if you fail a delivery Stardew?
You simply see the request for something or other and can try to satisfy that demand. If you succed, the quest giver recognizes your effort. If you fail, no one even knows you tried in the first place.TELL ME ABOUT A TIME YOU FAILED! (Sample Answer to this DIFFICULT BEHAVIORAL INTERVIEW QUESTION!)
