What Quest is the Runed Lexicon for?

The Runed Lexicon is a non-equipable item that is made a rune lexicon from just a lexicon after being used in the Elder Knowledge quest in the Tower of Mzark.

Once the lexicon cube is returned to its stand, "Elder Knowledge" is received, and grants the active effect "Ancient Knowledge." The perk grants a permanent 25% armor bonus when wearing Dwarven Armor and Smithing increases 15% faster.

What do I do with the lexicon Skyrim?

Transcribe the Lexicon Once inside the Tower of Mzark, the Lexicon must be placed in the receptacle, and the Oculory must be activated using the four buttons on the platform above the Oculory. Once done, the Oculory will reveal an Elder Scroll and the lexicon will have been transformed into a Runed Lexicon.
