Is there an established single-letter abbreviation for Pokemon energy types? - Unrecognizable female showing burning paper with written inscription and bright flame on blurred background

I am playing Pokemon Go and want to keep a note of the types of my Pokemon and their attacks in the name field. I have found unofficial suggestions like this, but this is too much information for me, and the type abbreviations here are two-letter.

So my question is - is there an established one-letter system of abbreviations for Pokemon energy types, akin to the one used in the Magic TCG for the five mana types (WUBRG)?

Best Answer

No, there is no established abbreviation system for types.

What are the 11 types of Pokémon cards?

The nine different Basic Energy types, which correspond to Pok\xe9mon card types, are Grass, Fire, Water, Lightning, Psychic, Fighting, Darkness, Metal, and Fairy. Two additional types, Dragon and Colorless, do not have their Energy cards and instead use other types of Energy.

How many energies can you attach to a Pokémon?

There is no limit. Each turn you can only attach one energy to one of your Pok\xe9mon (either a benched or active Pok\xe9mon), and there is no rule limiting the total energy. The downside of lots of energy on one Pok\xe9mon is that if your Mewtwo gets knocked out, all attached energy is put into the discard pile.

How many Pokemon types are there 2021?

As of 2021, the Pok\xe9mon series features 18 different types of Pok\xe9mon, with plenty of dual types found in the Pok\xe9dex as well. Each type has their own strengths and weakness both offensively and defensively, which is important to learn.
