Is there an in-world explanation why Aloy needs to learn skills again

Is there an in-world explanation why Aloy needs to learn skills again - Happy young woman playing ukulele for daughter at home

I just finished playing Horizon: Zero Dawn on PC. While waiting for a PC version of Forbidden West, or ability to buy PlayStation 5, I have read the reviews and it looks like in Forbidden West Aloy needs to learn skills she knew in Zero Dawn.

Is it true? And if it is, is there any explanation inside the game world why? Loss of shards and equipment is easy to accept, but loss of skills hurts my suspension of disbelief.

I believe if there's an explanation it needs to be at the beginning, if I'm wrong please keep answers as spoiler free as possible.

Does Aloy have a boyfriend?

No, Horizon Forbidden West does not have romance options. You will not be able to engage in any love stories with Aloy.

Are there romances in Horizon Forbidden West?

Relationships are a major theme in Horizon Forbidden West, both platonic and romantic. Aloy develops strong and personal relationships with each of her companions. A number of them are already in romantic relationships that help to flesh out the characters.

Does Erend love Aloy?

It's not much, but it's the closest anyone has ever gotten to Aloy in a romantic sense. Erend obviously has feelings for her and in the end, it seems possible that Aloy might come to reciprocate those feelings. It's clear they kept their relationship strong up until the events of Forbidden West.

Can you max out skills in Horizon Zero Dawn?

it looks like the max level cap is level 50. By this point, you'll have already earned enough skill points to unlock all of the available Skills. Upon reaching level 50, you'll also earn a bronze trophy. It's the final level-related trophy, so it's a good sign that this is the max level cap in the game.
