Is there an item that allows you to craft based on what's in nearby chests?

I think I saw some item that allowed you to craft items based on what is in nearby chests instead of only what's in your inventory. For instance, I'd like to be able to craft some cobalt armor when I have some cobalt bars in a chest within like 50 blocks but none in my inventory.

Does an item like that exist?

Best Answer

It's not an item. This feature was added in the 1.3 update.

You can now craft items from a chest while it is open without having to place its contents in the player inventory beforehand.

What does stashing do in Terraria?

When the player selects a range of items and click this button, the code will search for nearby chests that have tags that match the item tags (like materials or consumables, that they already have) and stash these items in the chests where the names matched.

How do you search chests in nei?

Place your furnace and stand next to it to smelt your ore into bars. With your two iron/lead bars and eight wood you can now craft a chest! Simply stand next to your workbench and look for the chest icon. That's it!

You don't need Harvest to craft items
