Parachute activates on launch problem

So in Kerbal Space Program Im using the MK2 Radial Mounted Parachute, attached to the side of a Science Jr. Module. The issue im facing is that at launch the parachute automatically activates causing me to crash.

How can I fix this?

Why does my parachute open in KSP?

Parachutes will only open under a certain speed. Wiggling your craft can make drag and slow you down, but also might lead to excessive spinning/being stuck facing the wrong way. I usually put at least one drogue chute on anything going up too high, or too fast.

Why does my parachute not deploy?

The parachute has a "Min Pressure" setting which you can adjust by right-clicking on it. The parachute won't open unless the atmospheric pressure is higher than this.

How do you deploy parachute in Kerbal space program?

In the event that parachutes do not open at this time, players should not panic, as parachutes can also be manually activated by right-clicking on them and selecting the blue button labeled "Deploy Chute."

Both parachutes failed skydiving malfunction with hard landing.
