Playing UK-bought games on a Japanese GameCube

Playing UK-bought games on a Japanese GameCube - Person with Games Controller

So I've just moved to Japan and couldn't bring my GameCube with me (though I did manage to bring my games). I just bought a GameCube today (Japanese), and was hoping there is some way to play UK games on the Japanese consoles. I had a freeloader for my UK GameCube to play games bought in the US, but I haven't heard of a UK-JP equivalent.

Is it at all possible, or am I stuck with buying a whole set of new Japanese games!?

I don't think you could find anything for UK-Japan GameCube, unfortunately. But, I think I might have seen an option for trading UK or US games in for their Japanese equivalents. (Hopefully you have a good knowledge of Japanese)

But! Unless you buy a blank new memory card, you will be forced to erase the saves for the Japanese format.

Hope I could help.

Will a Japanese GameCube work in the UK?

If you're using a modern TV it should work fine. For best quality you'll want a GCVideo adapter like the Carby if it's a DOL-001, or an S-video cable and RetroTINK if it's a DOL-101. By power supply do you mean a power cable?

Do Japanese GameCube games have English option?

The full english script must be in all versions of the game. The Japanese version of Melee also has the full English mode. However, the title screen, How TO Play movie, and some character's voice acting will still be in Japanese. That's really interesting :O.

Are Japanese GameCube games region locked?

The GameCube and Wii are both region-locked, the Wii Shop Channel is also region-locked.
