When trying to log in to the Playstation Store on my PC, I've been getting the below error message for months now (after entering my username & password):

I can log in to the same account on my PS3 with no problems. What's going on?

That looks like the HTTP Status Code for an unexpected error on the server side. To quote the description of 500, A generic error message, given when an unexpected condition was encountered and no more specific message is suitable.

It is possible that this is a temporary issue due to a hardware or software failure at Sony. Either way, there is likely nothing you can do beyond waiting for them to fix their server. If it doesn't go away soon, maybe send them an email?
