Soul trap does not work - black soul gem [closed]

Soul trap does not work. I have the soul trap spell and I cast it on the enemy (human). The enemy shimmers and I kill them within a few seconds, but there's no further effect and my black soul gem is still empty.

What can I do?

How do you fill a black soul gem with Soul Trap?

To capture a soul, there must be at least one empty soul gem in the inventory that is large enough to hold that soul. Either cast the Soul Trap spell on the target or attack it with a weapon enchanted with Soul Trap, then slay it before the duration of the effect runs out.

How do you get Soul Trap to work?

You can't use a Soul Gem when its empty, though. You'll need to trap souls within the gem itself in order to use it for enchanting or recharging your weapons and armor.

Why cant I use my soul gems?

To capture a soul, you'll need to use a Soul Trap spell and then kill the enemy before it wears off. You'll also have to have a Soul Gem large enough to carry that soul. Humans can only be trapped in Black Soul Gems which must be created or found on Necromancers.
