I'm busy getting my ass handed to me in Sekiro. My plan was near end game when I've hopefully gotten a fair amount of upgrades and better learned the game to un-dragonrot characters and then progress their storylines/quests. My understanding is you can't progress a character's questline while they have dragonrot.

Is there a point of no return (before the end of the game) in the game/story I should be aware of as a good point in time to spend the dragonblood droplets to try and blast through storylines/sidequests (hopefully avoiding death along the way forcing another cure).

There are two major points of no return

  1. After obtaining the Lotus of the Palace and the Shelter stone

Once both of these items have been obtained, you'll no longer be able to make progress towards one of the special endings, and you'll also lose the ability to fast travel to Ashina Castle (you're able to re-explore the area to unlock the shrines again). After reaching a certain boss in this area you get two choices,

you'll be given a choice to "follow" or "break" the iron code,

Choosing the first option also acts as a point of no return as you immediately go into one of the games special endings.

  1. After defeating the Divine Dragon.

Once this boss is defeated, you're officially in endgame and a lot of content becomes inaccessible, including steps towards two of the special endings and several character quest lines.

As usual in From Software games, some character quest lines intersect at certain points, so there are a few points within certain quests that cut off access to other quest line endings, but that's a whole lot more spoilery~

What are the points of no return in Sekiro?

Beaten bosses in Sekiro do not respawn. Once you've defeated them, they will be gone from their area and will stay that way no matter how many times you revisit it.

Can you keep playing after the point of no return?

If you pass the point of "No return", you can no longer return. Either that, or you can decide to play from the beginning again. Unfortunately, there's no New game +, so you would have to do everything anew.

How do you get the good ending in Sekiro no spoilers?

Simply carve a swath through the game until it prompts you to go to the rooftop arena the second time. There, Owl will ask you to obey the Iron Code and forsake your master Kuro. If you decide to go along with the Code, you'll fight two bosses exclusive to this path. Once you beat them both, you'll achieve this ending.

How do you save Kuro Sekiro?

Then, rest and talk to Emma at the top of the stairs from Kuro's room. She'll tell you she's found a way to ensure that Kuro doesn't die during the Immortal Severance process. Agree to help her. Rest and talk to her again, then warp to the Old Grave idol and run through the arch to your left where the two graves are.
