Surviving hordes 7DTD - Green Leafed Plant on Sand

Since the alpha 13 and the global upgrading materials system, I was wondering, which is more rewarding regarding the time spent looting/crafting between doing your base with wood then upgrade it to iron or using clay in forge to craft wall or using cobblestone frame with cobble inside.

This 3 types of defense for the first two hordes are pretty great and enough to survive easily but which one is the better regarding the time spent gathering the resources and crafting what is needed?

I'm talking only about the main structure of the base, not about the spike or trap/mine that can be put around to help you defend your position.

How do I survive a horde in 7 Days to Die?

Each horde wave has a duration expressed in in-game hours. In the example above the first two waves have a duration of 2 hours and the last has a duration of 7 hours. Note that the entire Blood Moon lasts for 6 hours, so a duration of 7 essentially means 'for all the time remaining until 0400'.

How long does Horde last 7 Days to Die?

When you die the horde ends until you engage a zombie and re-initialize the horde night in so doing. It's to prevent infinite death loops, essentially.

What happens if you die on horde night?

It gets harder. The first 7 days barely have any zombies in it. Then a wave comes and they start apearing everywhere. Every 7 days you can also get a horde, which is a period where normal and special zombies spawn near you in large numbers, and where your defenses really start to pay off.
