Vaermina quest in skyrim

Vaermina quest in skyrim - Quest Letter Blocks

During vaermina quest in skyrim I could either get 'skull of corruption' or make Erandur follow me.... Is there a way to make it both to get the deadric artifact also make Erandur follow me?

Best Answer

Yes and no. If you are trying for the Oblivion Walker achievement you will need to collect the skull of corruption (or take advantage of a bug in another quest).

If you just want one to play around while saving Erandur, you can just use a console command if you are on the PC to give yourself one:

Should I kill Erandur in Skyrim?

Is it better to kill him or let him live? If you are going for the achievement that requires all Daedric artifacts, then yes, you should kill him. This will let you keep the staff from that quest.

Does Erandur betray you in Skyrim?

If you ignore Vaermina's command, Erandur will destroy the skull and then offer to travel with you as a follower; he does not betray you as Vaermina would have had you believe.

What happens if you allow Erandur to complete the ritual?

Once you kill them, Erandur starts a ritual to destroy the skull. You now have a choice: Option 1: Let him finish the ritual and let the skull be destroyed. Erandur will become available as a companion.

What should I do in Waking Nightmare Skyrim?

You will have a choice to make to end the Waking Nightmare quest. You can either kill Erandur, allowing you to take the Skull of Corruption for yourself, or you can let him destroy the skull and gain him as a follower. Regardless of your choice, Dawnstar's citizens will be freed of their nightmares.

Answer 2

You can only get one or the other. I killed Erandur and got the skull on my latest playthrough so that I could get the oblivion walker achievement, but if you don't want the achievement I would advise sparing Erandur because the skull of corruption is a trash weapon anyway, it has 20 base damage (which can be increased to 50, but if you have good one handed, two handed or destruction that's still not great).
