What are the exact percentage numbers for the different "catch colors" in Pokémon GO?

What are the exact percentage numbers for the different "catch colors" in Pokémon GO? - Brown Wooden Scrabble Pieces on White Surface

When you encounter a Pokémon, there's a coloured circle around it that goes from wide to narrow and so on.

I know that when the circle is green it is "easy" to catch that Pokémon, yellow is "less easy", orange is "kinda difficult" and red is "hard as hell", but does anybody know the exact percentage numbers for these colors? For example: green is over 80% chance of catching, yellow is between 60-80... something like this.

Do we have these kind of data?

Best Answer

It's different % based on what are you trying to catch.

Overall, the capture rate is denoted by the circle, but the color of the circle and the capture rate depends on the Pokemon species and CP.

Each Pokemon has a BaseCaptureRate attached to it: source

As you can see, the evolved versions are quite more difficult to capture than base versions. Also, different species have different percentages. Remember, a green circle is only a green circle for that Pokemon and that capture encounter. It's relative, not absolute.

Also, the items you use during capture (Berry and different kind of Pokeballs) influence the capture rate. But you know that already.

How do you get a higher catch rate in Pokémon?

If successful, the Pok\xe9 Ball will hit the Pok\xe9mon and, hopefully, catch it. To increase your chances, aim your throw so the Pok\xe9 Ball lands as close as possible to the centre of the coloured circle. To increase your chances further, throw the Pok\xe9 Ball at the coloured circle when it's at it's smallest.

What do the different colored circles mean in Pokemon GO?

The ring's color indicates the difficulty level of capturing the Pok\xe9mon. A green ring indicates the capture is low difficulty, orange indicates intermediate difficulty, and red indicates extreme difficulty. You have the greatest chance of capturing the Pok\xe9mon while the colored ring is at its smallest diameter.

How do people catch so many Pokémon in Pokemon GO?

Now, if a player has a ton of pokeballs saved up or they purchase these items in the store, the answer is yes - catch them all! It's pretty straightforward why: trainers in Pokemon GO earn a variety of valuable things for each catch.
