What determines how much Tribute you get from a Ritual encounter?

In the Ritual league, you have to fight waves of enemies you previously killed around a special altar to receive tribute. Seems straightforward enough, but the amount of tribute I get from each encounter seems almost random. What affects this amount and can I influence it?

I know that the waves are formed from enemies killed around the altar before its activation. What I don't quite understand is whether it's all monsters killed at any point or just some. Is there a limit? Should I try to draw more enemies into the ritual area before knocking on the altar?

How do I get more tribute rituals?

Rituals are a map event where several Ritual Altars appear, introduced in the Ritual league. Ritual Altars can appear within the Acts and within Maps. After activating the ritual altar, players must defeat the enemies enclosed within the Ritual Circle, gaining Tribute in the process.

How rituals work Poe?

Monsters killed during a ritual provide points called Tribute, which can be spent on reward items at the end of the ritual. More expensive rewards become available the more rituals are completed in an area, but Tribute does not carry over between different areas of the game.

Does ritual tribute carry over?

Tribute points are rewarded when you complete a ritual in a map instance. And you will find a certain number of Altars in each zone. The basic premise is like this; you complete the first ritual in a zone, then you unlock the rewards in the pool for that zone, and can spend Tribute to claim them.
