What happened to Shovel Knight in Spectre of Torment?
I've recently watched playthroughs of Shovel of Hope, Plague of Shadows and Spectre of Torment. In Shovel of Hope, they leave it open as to how Shovel Knight, Shield Knight and Black Knight know each other. In Spectre of Torment, the relationship between Black Knight and Shield Knight gets some attention.
But Shovel Knight didn't seem to be in the game anywhere. Did I miss something? This seems like a bit of a plot hole to me, if Shield Knight was going adventuring to the Tower of Fate to smash the amulet, why wouldn't Shovel Knight go with her? Did the developers ever talk about this in an interview or similar?
