What Science can I perform on and near Kerbin?

What Science can I perform on and near Kerbin? - Diverse people in medical gloves performing experiment

I've decided to try the Career mode in Kerbal Space Program and I've flown a few rockets into orbit around Kerbin and landed them safely again. I've taken some mystery goo into orbit and I've taken surface samples from a few biomes on Kerbin.

But I'm now at a point where I seem to repeat myself in missions and hardly gain any Science anymore. And even if I figured out how to reach Mun or Minmus and get back again, I'm missing a few parts that are probably important for that such as landing gear and solar cells.

So my goal right now is to do some more Science on Kerbin to unlock those parts before I venture on more exciting and dangerous missions.

  • What are all the experiments I can do on and around Kerbin with the basic equipment available at the start of Career mode?
  • How do I do them in an efficient manner? It seems like I can only store one crew report per mission, so doing them in all possible situations would take forever.

Here is a screenshort of my Science Archives to roughly show what I have already done:

How do you get science on kerbin?

In the Science mode, the game's goal is to essentially unlock the entire tree through gradually advancing launches and experiments. The primary way to get more science in the game is to use Kerbals to perform experiments and surveys, then send that data back to the space center (KSC).

What is the best way to get science in KSP?

Scientist is a specialization assigned to Kerbonauts. Scientists are able to restore inoperable experiment modules while on EVA. They also convert "data" stored in the Mobile Processing Lab MPL-LG-2 into science, with higher experience level scientists working faster and up to two scientists contributing in parallel.

What can scientists do in KSP?

You can only hold 1 copy of each experiment in each container. Having the experiment in a different location makes it count as a seperate experiment so you can have mystery goo from the launch pad data and mystery goo from the runway data stored. It's infinite as long as you don't get duplicate data.
