What stats do different damage types scale off of?

What stats do different damage types scale off of? - Different shapes and sizes spoke wheels hanging on light wall

I have seen lots of controversy about this when it comes to fire (pyromancy) saying it is Int AND Fai and other say it is higher of Int OR Fai.

I am assuming that spells like dark and fire are based off the same stats as added fire or dark weapon damage.

Here is what I think and would like to verify:

Normal: STR or DEX depending on weapon
Fire: ??? INT AND FAI or higher of INT OR FAI
Lightning: FAI
Magic: Int
Dark: ??? Lower of INT or FAI stats
Poison: DEX?
Bleed: DEX?
Mundane: character's lowest stat

I dont know if players can use these types:

Curse: ?
Petrify: ?

What do scaling letters mean Elden Ring?

If there is a letter next to an attribute, it means that the weapon scales with that attribute. For instance, if a weapon scales with Strength, it means that the more Strength you have, the more damage you deal with that weapon.

What does dex scaling do?

Dexterity is a stat in Dark Souls III that increases attack damage with Dexterity-based weapons. Dexterity increases damage done by weapons with a scaling mechanic. A letter denoting a weapon's specific scaling properties is noted beneath the weapon's required Dexterity stat.

How does attribute scaling work?

The higher a weapons letter rank, the higher the second number - and thus your damage output - will be for that weapon. So if you had a weapon with an attribute scaling Strength rank of A, it'll do more extra damage than if Strength was rank E, for example.
