I am currently traveling with Fawkes and Dogmeat and sometimes, when killing enemies, I do not get experience points. I am assuming that I need to inflict a certain percentage of the damage to get the experience - but how much is it?

Do you get XP for companion Kills Fallout 4?

You get full exp for all companion (active or inactive) and settler kills, you don't have to fire your weapon at all, or be engaged with the enemy in any way, you just have to be close enough to the battle for it to be loaded.

How do you level up characters in pillars of eternity?

When any character's experience points reach a certain threshold, a golden "+" in the left upper corner of character portrait will inform you that this character is ready to level up. Clicking the "+" takes you through the level-up process.
