What happened to Noctis at the end of ff15?

Noctis turns to his friends and tells them to "Walk tall," just as his father did ten years prior. He reclaims his throne and uses the Ring of the Lucii to absorb the power of the previous kings, dying in the process.

What does the ending of FFXV mean?

Final Fantasy XV concludes in tragedy, as the protagonist, Noctis, sacrifices his life to prevent the antagonist, Ardyn, from completely destroying the world. The last thing we see is an image of Noctis and his bride-to-be, Luna, kissing in the afterlife.

What happened to Prompto?

Noctis, Gladiolus and Prompto are brought to the Keep by Ravus, and as the train ride through the imperial lands never happens, Prompto is never captured and presumably never learns of his origins.

What happened Prince Noctis?

Gladiolus, Ignis and Prompto stay outside to fend off the daemons as Noctis ascends the throne. He calls the spirits of the kings of Lucis that attack him one by one, plunging the royal arms into Noctis's body until his soul is absorbed by the Ring of Lucii.
