Anvil - Cheat the repair counter [duplicate]

I had a very nice pickaxe with great enchantments on it. I noticed at one point, that I can't repair it anymore ("too expensive!"). I found information about this on the Minecraft-Wiki.

Is there any way to surpass this counter? It really annoys me, I worked hours to get a pickaxe with Silk Touch and now everything starts from scratch. :/

Is there a way to repair anvil in Minecraft?

It's not possible to repair an anvil, so you'll need to keep the Minecraft anvil recipe to hand. An anvil can also be damaged and destroyed from falling, if an air block is below an anvil, it becomes a falling anvil and damages any player or mob it falls onto.

Can you infinitely repair items in Minecraft?

Each time you combine an enchanted item (or items) with an anvil, the repair cost doubles. When repair costs exceed 39, you can no longer repair. Effectively, you get 6 anvil uses, including combining books and items to enchant the item, and subsequent repairs.
