Civ 6 Capture City State

I have not managed to capture a city state yet for fear of what would happen. Do captured City States get Occupied forever preventing growth? Or do they not get Occupied Status? Pro Con of capturing city state because it would make no sense to me if you get stuck with occupied status.

Can you capture a City-State in Civ 6?

As separate political entities, city-states may be conquered and later liberated (see below). As before, you can choose to court city-states and use their benefits, you can ignore them and concentrate on your rivals, or you can conquer them for their territory.

Should I capture City-State Civ 6?

In summary, if a City-State in Civilization 6 provides good general bonuses and a powerful Suzerian bonus for a player's desired Victory Condition then they should heavily consider keeping it.

Can you capture a City-State?

You can raze city states forever. If you choose to capture them they will not be occupied and will behave as a normal city. Liberation is a third option if you are recapturing a city state from another player.
