CoC opt out - To War or Not to War

What happens to members who opt out of war, but are included? Do they not get to attack or be attacked?

I am a leader of a successful clan in CoC. Since the newest update we leaders and coleaders have the ability to handpick our best members to be either "IN" or "OUT" in the war.

Now, as a member, one of the new features is to allow "OPT OUT" or "IN" to wars.

When I as leader start a war, I get a new screen which lets me pick and I can still choose those members who have opted out, their shield is red instead of green. What happens to them in war?

members who chose to opt of war and just signifying their preference. Even if they choose to opt out of war, you can still select them, and they will be in war, able to attack and defend. Members opting out of war are just saying that they do not wish to be included.

Can I leave my clan and come back during war?

You are free to leave your Clan during a War, but your War Base will remain visible on the war map and can be attacked by the opponent. Leaving a Clan will not affect an ongoing war, and if you return while the war is still ongoing you can still do your attacks.

What is the point of wars in Clash of Clans?

The main goal of attacking in a clan war is to earn stars for your clan by earning them in battle. It is important to attack targets that you think you can defeat. If you fail in your attacks, not only will you not earn stars for your clan, but you will also only earn reduced bonus loot!

What is the best time to start war in COC?

Starting wars at night lets us use our first attack before going to bed after the war starts and our second attack the next evening before the war ends. For example, our current war starts and ends at 9 PM. We found this to be good for us as we tried morning wars before and it was hectic.

What happens if COC war draw?

If the number of stars scored by both clans are equal then they would break the tie by comparing average destruction percentage of best attacks of both the clans. If both clans deal the same amount of stars and total destruction, then the war will be considered a draw.
