Did Ghast fireballs use to be to their own independent item?

Did Ghast fireballs use to be to their own independent item? - Woman working retouching photo on laptop at convenient workplace

I remember in previous versions of Minecraft that the Fire Charge was not a craftable item, but rather the item ID of the Ghast's fireball. Is this true? I thought the ID of the Ghast's fireball might now be the same as the fire charge, but with a data value of 1 just like charcoal. Sadly, I don't think this is the case.

Mainly, I just want to launch Ghast fireballs out of dispensers.

Why are Ghasts crying?

The player states that the Overworld is the Ghast's real home, and that it is sad because it is trapped in the Nether dimension. This gives the \u201cAn Uneasy Alliance\u201d advancement a ton of more weight, as it potentially saves the Ghast from the Nether.

How do you hit a ghast with its own fireball?

Ghasts can destroy glass although, can not see through glass, so as long as you stay in a glass tunnel or something along the lines of that you should be fine!
