With a command block I am able to provide sharpness and smite to the same weapon. Do the effects of this stack?

Can sharpness and smite go together?

Smite and Sharpness are both good enchantments to add to the sword in Minecraft. Since these two enchantments are incompatible (they cannot be placed on the same sword), players will have to choose one.

Are smite and sharpness mutually exclusive?

Incompatibilities. Sharpness, Smite, Cleaving,\u200c [upcoming:JECombatTests] and Bane of Arthropods are mutually exclusive. However, if commands are used to have two or more of these enchantments on the same item, the effects stack.

Is it better to have smite or sharpness?

Sharpness is weaker, but it works against all mobs!; Smite is stronger, but it only works against specific mobs.

Can sharpness override smite?

Both Smite and Sharpness will make your enchanted weapon deal more damage. They both come from level 1 to level 5 (or from I to V). The difference is that Sharpness will deal extra damage to every mob or player you will hit, Smite will instead deal extra damage only to undead mobs.
