Do slime chunks change version to version?
I am using a seed in 1.9 and programs like http://mineatlas.com and admidst are able to show me the biomes correctly when i load my world in version 1.8.9 (they haven't updated for 1.9).
My question is will slime chunks show correctly in the programs (1.8.9) if they are reading the world (1.9 loaded into the 1.8.9 programs)?

Slime chunk generation should be the same for different versions of Minecraft. I haven't ever heard of the algorithm changing, and I don't think there would be much if any reason to change it.

Are all slime chunks the same?
Slime chunks are special as they provide a high chance of spawning slime. However, not every chunk is a slime chunk. In Minecraft Java Edition, slime chunks are generated pseudo-randomly and are different for every seed. However, these chunks have the exact same coordinates across all seeds in Bedrock Edition. Are all slime chunks the same in Java?
The slime chunk algorithm in Bedrock Edition is different from in Java Edition. The algorithm doesn't depend on the world seed, thus the chunks that slimes can naturally spawn in inhabit the same coordinates for every world. How can you tell if a f3 is a slime chunk?
The most efficient way to find a slime chunk is to go underground below Y-40 and create tunnels big enough to spawn small and medium slimes. A trick that you can do is to click the key combination f3+Q followed by f3+G. This will show chunk boundaries. How do I know which chunks are slime chunks?
If the chunk has slimes spawning on it, you can determine it as a slime block. Slimes only spawn when there are no mobs around 15 blocks. Hence, if you dig out some chunks and add fences, you should be able to differentiate a regular chunk and a slime chunk by the spawn rate of Slimes. How Do Slime Spawn? Minecraft Java 1.19

Slime chunks will display correctly if you input the seed in mine atlas and choose the version that the world was created in. So if you made the world in 1.9 input 1.9 and if you made the world in 1.8.9 input 1.8.9 and so on
Hope this helps
