Does a dweller running around the room with his gun contribute to the attack? - A Person Washing a Green Apple in a Sink with Running Water

I have a high perception dweller armed with a lead belcher. When he is a member of a room being attacked by mole rats or radroaches, instead of taking a stance, sometimes he runs around, constantly repositioning himself, and his animation doesn't shoot.

Is he not actually contributing to the attack, or is the animation just for show?

Best Answer

They do contribute to the attack.

Fights in room are a constant drain on HP and are not dependent on the animation.

This can be seen easily with a missile launcher and single room level 1 radroaches incident. The roaches will die before any rockets are fired.

If you use the drag method, a targeting line will appear showing you which enemy your Dweller is targeting. In addition, combat speed is based on a Dweller's Agility. The higher their Agility, the faster they attack.

Generally, each room can facilitate two dwellers. Merged rooms may be occupied by up to 6 dwellers. Production rooms require a specific S.P.E.C.I.A.L trait to run, while training rooms increase a specific trait of the selected dwellers.

How do you tell if a dweller is in the right room?

You can check a dweller's stats to see what room they're best suited for, or simply drag them to the room in question to see what number they'll add to its overall production rating.

What does endurance do for a dweller?

Endurance determines how many hit points dwellers gain as they level up. Dwellers start with 105 health points. They seem to get 2.5 + (END * 0.5) health points each time they level up, so 17 points in Endurance will add 11 hit points per level compared to the minimum of 3 at END 1.

Answer 2

Drag a dweller from many rooms away. So many rooms that the roaches (or whatever) due before the dweller can get there. He has his gun out while running, loses health and gains exp all without entering the room.

Answer 3

They contribute to it, and will still lose hitpoints. (Even if the Health Bar dissapears)
Something similar happens to me; when I put someone with a Pressurized Flamethrower, she runs around the room, but 3 or 4 Raiders were still killed at the Vault Door.
