Does repairing increase enchantment cost?

Each time you repair or combine an item, the level cost increases by 2. You can mitigate this, somewhat, by renaming the item first. This will add some to the level cost for future repairs/combinations, but it makes the item exempt from the increasing cost each time you do. -- Source.

How do you fix repairs with mending?

Mending does not select items that are already fully repaired. For example, if the player has a fully repaired helmet and a damaged chest plate, leggings, and boots, only the latter 3 are considered in the random chance to be repaired. Durability doesn't affect which item is chosen at random.

Does mending fully repair all items?

If a player has a damaged item with Mending in their offhand, and a fully repaired item with Mending in their main hand and gets XP, there is a chance that it will go to the player's XP bar instead of repairing the damaged item.
