How do I cancel the current build in space engineers

I'm new to Space Engineers so apologies if this is a numpty question, but I've managed to enter a build mode for a part, and it's ghosting in front of me all the time as I move around, as shown below.

I've no intention or desire to build this object right now, so I'd like to stop it from showing in front of me all the time so I can get on with what I'm trying to do.

Can anyone suggest what I need to do to make it disappear?

How do you stop buildings in Space Engineers?

To stop building, press 0 or ~ (configurable on the options menu) to select the Engineer's empty hand.

How do you clear a build queue in Space Engineers?

Press G, then on bottom-right you'll see the build planner. Click on the items pending to remove them.

How do I turn off progression in Space Engineers?

The advanced options menu allows you to disable progression. Advanced options. Scroll to bottom left. Untick progression box.

How do I change building mode in Space Engineers?

I didn't know you could change build modes that way. :) Keep in mind that you only have to press ctrl simultaneously as you click. After that you can simply hold down the LMB, go to the point your want and then press ctrl to get a line there or alternatively ctrl + shift to get a plane.
